Overcoming Incredible Odds of Covid-19, Fire, Robbery to build a Resilient Business in Ghana

Setbacks kept coming at him. Not only had Kwami Williams dealt with a fire that destroyed their manufacturing center and had two employees attacked on the way to work, but now Covid had come and a bad situation suddenly looked desperately worse.

And yet, he knew God would be faithful as He had been before. He kept hope and kept persevering, building character along the way.

Opportunity for growth came and more stores wanted their products, but capital was needed to rebuild and scale to meet new demand. Kwami needed God to step in again.

Kwami was introduced to Marketplace and began discussions with the team. His MIT degree and knowledge of the retail CPG industry shone forth but more than that, his passion for his countrymen in African which had caused him to return home was evident.

Kwami shared his pitch at a demo day and investors responded with interest. They believed in the great products, and loved that he was already courting a relationship with major store brands to sell more.

Investors reached out through Marketplace, doors opened for investment after weeks of diligence calls. The deal came together and Kwami and the True Moringa team are pushing ahead with investor support who not only bring capital but strategic wisdom to the table. The future is bright for Africa and for incredible founders like Kwami who are chasing the dreams the Lord put in their hearts.
