Life:
Robert spent a good chunk of his 20s and 30s traveling to different parts of the world on short-term mission trips, ranging from serving Native American tribes in South Dakota to underprivileged youth in Mongolia. It was on these trips Robert started imagining the role of investing as a tool to uplift communities – as a conduit of God’s blessings.
Robert moved out to Bay Area with pretty much one suitcase (and his fair share of student debt) to work as an unpaid intern at an impact fund. While living on his friend’s couch for six months was not fun, it was an incredibly rewarding experience and the best career decision he’s made. Robert grew up in Korea and now lives in San Jose with his wife and his son.
The hard truth is that stewardship involves a form of surrendering. And, it’s hard to surrender. We don’t need to be a saint to begin the life of stewardship.
