Josh Ruyle
Director | Hope Global Investment Fund
Bio:
Prior to joining HOPE, Josh served as general manager of Opportunity International’s Microcredit Company in East Asia. He began working with HOPE in 2010 alongside Beth, his wife, as HOPE’s East Asia country director and then as Asia and Eastern Europe regional director. Prior to assuming his current role leading HOPE Global Investments, Josh oversaw HOPE’s strategic push into SME lending, training, and auxiliary services. In addition to his work at HOPE, Josh is actively working with Beth’s family to assume ownership over a 55-employee company based in northeast Iowa.
Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Arizona State University, an advanced Chinese language studies certificate, and an M.A. in international development and economics from Johns Hopkins University. He lives in Washington, D.C., with Beth and their three boys, Hudson Taylor, John Elliot, and Enoch Adoniram.
HOPE International’s journey into deepened support for SME business owners across our network began in many ways with the Login family of Western Ukraine. We had the privilege of watching as their microbusiness – a bike shop – blossomed into a platform for real impact in their home village, namely, helping adolescents with a tendency to turn their backs on family and fall into drugs and alcohol addiction in their teenage years.
