Bio:

David loves working alongside world-class entrepreneurs to create and build enduring, highly-valued, technology-based companies.  During the past 30+ years, he has directly co-managed institutional venture capital funds totaling in excess of $2 Billion.  During his career, he has focused on making direct investments in seed to later stage opportunities in the information technology and health care sectors.

In 2000, David co-founded Diamondhead Ventures, an early stage $140M fund which invested in Cavium (IPO, acquisition by Marvell), Danger Inc. (acquired by Microsoft), Entercept Security Technologies (acquired by McAfee), PassMark (acquired by RSA Security) and UPEK (acquired by Apple/AuthenTec).  David’s prior investments include: Harmonic, Inc. (IPO), TriQuint Semiconductor (IPO), NexGen (IPO), Viewlogic Systems (IPO) and Harbridge Merchant Services (acquired by First Data Corporation).

David was a Managing Director at ONSET Ventures ($1B in assets under management) as well as a senior venture capital investment officer at the Harvard Management Company, which manages Harvard University’s endowment ($8B in assets under management).  Prior to his venture capital career, he worked for IBM selling large enterprise IT systems and Hughes Aircraft as an electrical engineer.

Life:

David is a Deacon at Menlo Church and has been involved in church planting.  He earned a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He serves on the University of Southern California Viterbi Engineering School’s Board of Councilors as well as other non-profit boards.

Craig Deall serves as CEO of Foundations for Farming—an initiative aimed at bringing transformation to individuals, communities and nations through faithful and productive use of land.

Foundations for Farming is based in Zimbabwe, where burning and deep soil inversion are common practice on farms causing terrible sheet erosion to occur, which results in loss of seed and water. Craig and the team at Foundations for Farming are working to encourage local farmers to use more productive and sustainable practices, thus improving productivity and sustainability all throughout the region.

Chip Mahan has built his career revolutionizing the banking industry.

He founded and currently serves as CEO and chairman of Live Oak Bancshares, headquartered in Wilmington, NC. Its commercial banking subsidiary, Live Oak Bank, specializes in providing lending and deposit services to small businesses nationwide. Live Oak Bank was selected as the winner of the 2018 BAI Global Innovation Awards in the internal process innovation category for converting all bank operations to the cloud.

Chip serves on the board of directors for Apiture, a joint venture between Live Oak and First Data which focuses on creating next-gen technology for financial institutions. He is also a director of Payrailz, a digital payments company which offers advanced solutions for the financial services industry. Chip is a co-founder of nCino, a cloud-based banking software built on the Salesforce platform.

Chip was the CEO and chairman of S1 Corporation and founder of Security First Network Bank, one of the world’s first internet banks. He began his career in 1973 at Wachovia Bank & Trust Co., after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington & Lee University.

Chris Conant is an accomplished speaker, author, international business consultant, serial entrepreneur, and investor. Chris has founded, grown, managed, and sold three branding and PR businesses over his 23-year career. He has created and impacted servant-leadership cultures for hundreds of employees. His passion is and has always been to create massive stakeholder value for social, economic, and spiritual impact on the nations. He is a mentor and advisor to numerous faith-driven entrepreneurs and sits on two boards. 

Over the last seven years, Chris founded the Psalm6835 Funds, Monmouth Society, Resound Structured Capital, and other kingdom-focused management companies and funds.

Chris Horst is the chief advancement officer at HOPE International, where he employs his passion for advancing initiatives at the intersection of faith and work. In addition to his role at HOPE, Chris spends an alarming percentage of his free time tending to his yard with all of the loving care normally afforded to newborn children. He and his wife, Alli, have four human children of whom they are even prouder than their lawn—Desmond, Abe, June, and Mack. As a dad to four kiddos, Chris has recently undergone a radical transformation from self-proclaimed foodie to a man who prepares far more trays of chicken nuggets than avocado toast. He wouldn’t change it.

Chris serves on the boards of the Denver Institute for Faith & Work and the Mile High WorkShop. He loves to write, having been published in The Denver Post and Christianity Today and co-authored Mission Drift,Entrepreneurship for Human Flourishing, and Rooting for Rivals with Peter Greer. Christianity TodayWORLD Magazine, and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association named Mission Drift a book of the year in 2015. Chris was a very average student, but he did graduate with both a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University and an MBA from Bakke Graduate University.

Chris Maclellan

Bio:

Mr. Maclellan serves as a Trustee for the Maclellan Foundation. He is Chairman of the Investment Committee and serves on the Grant Committee, which donates approximately $27 million per year toward evangelism, leadership development, Church planting, and encouraging generous giving. He is also Chairman of the Mission Related Investment Committee, which oversees a $15 million impact fund that invests in global projects that fulfill the Foundation’s mission while seeking a market rate of return. The Maclellan Foundation was founded in 1947 and is located in Chattanooga, TN.   

After working 8 years for the family’s insurance company, Chris focused his career on private equity investing and starting new ventures.   He founded an insurance brokerage firm, two Internet ventures, a real estate company, and a billboard company. Chris graduated from Wheaton College in 1986 and earned an MBA from the University of Virginia (Darden) in 1991.  He serves on several local and national boards.

Life:

Chris is married to Susan, and they have four boys, ages 16 to 27. They attend Calvary Chapel Chattanooga. They enjoy traveling and visiting mission organizations and business as mission ventures.  Their family lived in Rome, Italy in 1998 – 1999 and served there with Italy for Christ and with Covenant College in Slovakia.
