Bio:

David loves working alongside world-class entrepreneurs to create and build enduring, highly-valued, technology-based companies.  During the past 30+ years, he has directly co-managed institutional venture capital funds totaling in excess of $2 Billion.  During his career, he has focused on making direct investments in seed to later stage opportunities in the information technology and health care sectors.

In 2000, David co-founded Diamondhead Ventures, an early stage $140M fund which invested in Cavium (IPO, acquisition by Marvell), Danger Inc. (acquired by Microsoft), Entercept Security Technologies (acquired by McAfee), PassMark (acquired by RSA Security) and UPEK (acquired by Apple/AuthenTec).  David’s prior investments include: Harmonic, Inc. (IPO), TriQuint Semiconductor (IPO), NexGen (IPO), Viewlogic Systems (IPO) and Harbridge Merchant Services (acquired by First Data Corporation).

David was a Managing Director at ONSET Ventures ($1B in assets under management) as well as a senior venture capital investment officer at the Harvard Management Company, which manages Harvard University’s endowment ($8B in assets under management).  Prior to his venture capital career, he worked for IBM selling large enterprise IT systems and Hughes Aircraft as an electrical engineer.

Life:

David is a Deacon at Menlo Church and has been involved in church planting.  He earned a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He serves on the University of Southern California Viterbi Engineering School’s Board of Councilors as well as other non-profit boards.

Chris Meyer is Manager of Stewardship Investing Research and Advocacy for Praxis Mutual Funds® and Everence® Financial, a leading provider of faith-based financial products in the United States and a ministry of Mennonite Church USA. Chris has been involved in the field of ethical and socially responsible investing at Everence for more than 10 years. He leads the company’s work in corporate engagement and supports its investment screening and proxy voting functions.

Chris implements shareholder advocacy as a core part of the Everence commitment to a philosophy of Stewardship Investing. Growing out of a responsibility of shareholder-owners of corporations, the objective is to improve the social and environmental policies of corporations to the benefit of all stakeholders. He has led shareholder dialogues on many pertinent issues such as climate change, toxic chemicals, child slave labor, and predatory credit card practices with multinational companies.

Chris chairs the nominating committee and is part of the climate change leadership team at the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, the nation’s leading member-based coalition of institutional investors seeking to use their investments as a catalyst for social change.

Life:

Frequently asked to present to community, social justice, and faith-based groups, Chris has become an important voice in helping investors understand the impact their resources can have in building a more just and sustainable world. As part of his personal commitment to practicing stewardship values, Chris lives in an off-the-grid house powered by solar panels. He and his family grow much of their own food through organic gardening.

Christeen Rico

Bio:

Christeen Rico is a daughter of the Most High King, committed to following Jesus and intent on pursuing a vision found in Proverbs 11:10 (NIV) “When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices.”

Currently, she’s on assignment as a minister of reconciliation in the marketplace, starting at her place of work: a major tech company in Silicon Valley where she works in strategy and operations, while co-leading the company’s Christian employee resource group. Christeen is passionate about equipping men and women in the marketplace to pursue an intentional journey of faith and work integration, thereby amplifying their impact in the world in partnership with God.

Christeen is an active steward of the Silicon Valley Faith & Work Movement as a speaker, mentor and co-host of various cross-company, cross-church initiatives including the first ever Silicon Valley Work & Faith Workshop which empowered 70+ faith-driven leaders with tools to launch faith-based employee resource groups to positively impact their company.

He is the author of four books, including The Worst Financial Mistakes in the Bible, and How You Can Avoid Them and love and money.

He is also the executive producer of the God Provides™ film series, starring Dean Jones. The films are now used throughout the world in 30 languages with the potential to reach 2 billion oral and visual learners.

In addition, Chuck writes and produces a daily radio broadcast heard on over 1,200 outlets in the USA.

As the Founder and Executive Director of the Christian Economic Forum, Chuck also focuses on advancing God’s economic principles through this annual gathering of select marketplace leaders dedicated to improving the world through the advancement of ideas that work.

He also serves on the board of Foundations for Farming, an initiative aimed at bringing transformation to individuals, communities, and nations through sustainable agriculture and faithful stewardship of the land.

Life:

Chuck and his wife, Ann, both graduates of Baylor University, have been married since 1978. They can be found reading and spending time outdoors with their family at their home in Knoxville, Tennessee when they are not traveling the world together to advance Crown’s mission.

They have four adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Chuck Welden

Chuck holds a B.S. from the University of Alabama in Commerce and Business Administration, Law Degree from George Washington University and Master of Law in Taxation from New York University. After practicing law at the Birmingham law firm of Burr & Forman, Chuck joined WeldenField, a Birmingham based family real estate company.

He has served as a member of the Young Executive Board of Directors of Compass Bank and currently serves on the Board of the Alabama Wildlife Federation and the National Christian Foundation of Alabama. At WeldenField, he focuses on both alternative investments and real estate opportunities which include both acquisition and development opportunities in multifamily, single family, hotel, active adult and land.

Life:

Chuck and his wife, Lauren, reside in Birmingham, Alabama and have four children.
