Bio:

Scott Friesen is a serial entrepreneur who has started, grown, and sold companies since 1998. He has helped to orchestrate the sale of three of U.S.-based businesses in technology, media, and online advertising. He’s led sales, operations, and technology teams and has a track record of producing consistent growth and profitability.

More recently, he co-founded Verdant Frontiers and has started five companies in Ethiopia with the goal of creating an industrial revolution in the country.

Life:

Scott is the proud co-founder of a family of three children who live together in Austin.

Scott Luttrell

Bio:

D. Scott Luttrell is CEO and Chief Investment Officer for LCM Group, a privately-owned diversified investment company and family office headquartered in Dallas, Texas.  Mr. Luttrell founded LCM Group in 1988 to focus on the growing opportunities in the alternative investment sector, including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, private real estate, and private debt. Mr. Luttrell launched his first hedge fund in 1988, and after three years merged his investment firm’s global macro investment fund with that of Caxton Associates, LLC,  where he was responsible for portfolio risk management and the firm’s global fixed income group.

Mr. Luttrell currently serves on the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the YMCA Retirement Fund, a $7.5 billion retirement fund serving the employees of the YMCA. Mr. Luttrell also serves on several private company Boards and is active in various academic and community organizations including serving on Southern Methodist University’s Cox School Executive Board and the Cox School Alternative Asset Management Center Board of Advisors, is Chairman of the Board of East-West Ministries, Board of Directors of HOI (Helping Others Internationally), and the Board of Trustees to the National Christian Foundation of North Texas. Additionally Mr. Luttrell serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors to specialty lender North Avenue Capital and private equity firms Ballast Point Ventures, Mangrove Partners, Coltala Partners and Indigena Holdings. Mr. Luttrell is Founder and Trustee of The Light Foundation.

Mr. Luttrell served for twelve years on the Board of Directors of Florida Bank Group, Inc., a Federal Reserve regulated bank holding company, until its sale to IberiaBank (IBKC: NASDAQ) and served for fourteen years on the Board of Directors of Cbeyond, Inc. (CBEY:NASDAQ) prior to its sale to Birch Communications.

Mr. Luttrell received his degree in Business Administration/Finance in 1977 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 2001, Mr. Luttrell attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program in Corporate Governance. Mr. Luttrell and his wife, Laura, have been married 41 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren. The Luttrell family are active members of Watermark Community Church.

Bio:

Scott is Chief Investment Officer for HL Investments, the outside investment arm for the Green Family and Hobby Lobby. He previously served as President and Chief Strategy Officer of Sonic Corp, parent company of the nation’s largest chain of drive-in restaurants. Scott is a member of the Board of Directors of Barkley (one the nation’s largest independent advertising agencies) as well as iDonate LLC and Clean Energy Africa LLC.

Scott also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Baylor University School of Business, as well as BancFirst, Oklahoma City. He also is a member of the boards of The Mentoring Project, SALLT Leadership Training, and the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals. Scott earned a BBA in Accounting and Marketing from Baylor in 1984, and he earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987.

Bio:

Scott Weiss is Chairman and CEO of OCEAN Accelerator, which operates both a hi-tech startup accelerator (OCEAN) as well as a training program for lifestyle entrepreneurs (Unpolished). Scott serves on four company advisory boards and mentors many of the region’s most seasoned entrepreneurs.

Prior to OCEAN, he served 22 years in C-Suite roles at brands including Evenflo, Clorox and P&G.

Shane Enete

Shane Enete has worked as an associate professor of finance at Biola University since 2015. Enete launched the Certified of Financial Planning (CFP) program at the Crowell School of Business where students are trained in the art and science of personal financial planning. Prior to working at Biola, Enete was an investment research professional for 10 years for large institutional asset managers. His duties included valuing public stock securities, modeling asset allocations, and serving as a forensic accountant. Enete currently holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations and was awarded the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2014. Enete holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Southern California, a M.S. in Mathematical Finance from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and a Ph.D. in financial planning from Kansas State University. His research interests include Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI), charitable giving, and behavioral finance. Shane is married to Tammy, and is father to Sage and Silas. He enjoys any activity near the beach, or in the water, including surfing, swimming, beach volleyball, and triathlons.
