Second Chances |
Sometimes It Finds You
Amy and Braden King were dealing with personal and professional brokenness of their own only to discover that most of the employees at their new construction company had a history of addiction, homelessness, and criminal convictions. The reality of their situation helped them develop Square Peg’s culture of recovery. In this session, the Kings share their story. And they explain why that led them to launch two new companies specifically targeting systemic injustice, housing for the homeless, and support services for those in need of employment.

Discussion Questions
When the Bottom Falls Out
Hitting bottom doesn’t always look like bankruptcy or addiction. Sometimes it’s the slow unraveling of purpose, clarity, or identity. But rock bottom can become holy ground—the place where God rebuilds something new.
- Have you faced a moment like that in your life or business? Where have you seen God show up in your lowest place?
- How did Amy and Braden’s story shift your understanding of failure, surrender, or new beginnings?
Start Again, Start Right
The hardest part of starting over is letting go of what’s familiar. But Jesus doesn’t call us to comfort—He calls us to follow. Sometimes that means rebuilding from scratch, other times it’s simply choosing obedience in the small things.
- What would it look like to start over in part—or in full—with your business?
- Did this video surface any areas where you’ve settled for “safe” instead of “faithful”?
Hiring the Unemployable
The hope we carry as Faith Driven Entrepreneurs isn’t meant to be kept. We’re called to build businesses that embody the gospel—especially for those the world sees as unemployable or unworthy.
- Where in your business are you offering second chances—or withholding them?
- Did this story challenge how you view redemptive hiring or workplace ministry?
